Sarmishsay is part of the Tentative list of Uzbekistan in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Sarmishsay is a mixed nomination of a natural park protecting the Sarmish valley and its surroundings with numerous endangered plants and animals (for example, the Central Asian cobra or the Kyzylkum mountain sheep) and also the valley scattered with more than 10’000 petroglyphs dating from the Mesolithic (depicting animals or objects of everyday life) to the Middle Ages.
